The Science of Green Tea

The habit of drinking green tea has prevailed for over a thousand years. The long-standing popularity of green tea is due in part to a belief in its enormous health benefits. Taiyo Kagaku Co., Ltd. has scientifically examined green tea for over 15 years and found that the health benefits were attributed to its various active components, such as green tea catechins and the amino acid L-theanine.

Sunphenon, obtained from the leaf of traceable green tea (Camellia sinensis), is a series of highly purified polyphenols rich in natural green tea catechins. These polyphenols have been shown to have numerous biochemical and physiological benefits, including antioxidant, anti-microbial, deodorant and thermogenic (fat burning) activities.

Sunphenon has been approved by the Japanese Foundation for Health and Nutrition as a Food for Specified Health Use (FOSHU). Sunphenon was further honored with the Industrial Achievement Award by the U.S. Institute of Food Technologists (IFT).

Sunphenon® extracts are Food Grade, non-GMO and certified Kosher.

Sunphenon® extracts comply with U.S. FDA pesticide regulations for tea as outlined in 40CFR180.
